What we did this summer: CSF Summer Programs

Summer is a time to rejuvenate, reflect, and enjoy family and friends, but it’s also a critical time for student success. Underserved students can’t afford to lose academic momentum during the summer months. CSF summer programs ensure that our scholars are supported and engaged year-round. Students gain practical knowledge and build connection to fuel their success through the upcoming school year and beyond.

  • In every district we serve, high school students participated in summer programs focused on college and career readiness. Ninth and tenth graders, gained college and career knowledge, created college action steps and visited at least one college campus. Eleventh and twelfth graders learned about college fit and match, financial aid and literacy, developed a senior plan and visited several college campuses.
  • Over the summer, District of Columbia students prepared for a successful transition into the next grade and learned how to prepare and improve their SAT scores.
  • Foster youth in Washington state attended Make It Happen!, an annual 4-day, 3-night campus event. Students experienced campus life firsthand, living in campus housing and attending workshops on college academics, financial aid, resources and tools for success.
  • Leadership 1000 Scholars attended orientation where they learned about financial aid and financial literacy. Several Leadership 1000 scholars met their donors at this event.  Learn how you can help support a deserving student.
