Graduating Seniors Celebrate in Seattle

June 1, 2018

College Success Foundation hosted a spirited year-end celebration of graduating Achievers Scholars from Cleveland High School and Rainier Beach High School on May 31. Over 100 students and CSF staff attended the event at Jefferson Park in Seattle.

With high school graduation just days away, excitement was in the air. Students and staff had a great time playing games including a lively egg toss that had them laughing as they ran to catch the raw eggs without breaking them. Though it was a gusty afternoon with the wind blowing away the gold balloon decorations, spirits were high and not dampened by the storm clouds that hung over the park. CSF staff served up classic picnic fare including hamburgers, hot dogs, veggies and popcorn.

A highlight of the evening was when CSF Achievers Scholars received their red, blue and yellow honor cords from College Prep Advisors (CPA) Dawn Cunanan (Cleveland High School) and Andii Sandman (Rainier Beach High School). As they received their cords, the Scholars shared where they will be attending college in the fall and what scholarships they have received. CSF College Services shared how CSF can continue to help Scholars stay the course by providing them with the support and resources they’ll need to continue down the path of academic success and graduate with a college degree.

Congratulations, graduates! We are so proud and excited for you as you take your next steps to college!

A special thanks to Seattle Public Schools for your partnership and for helping us to change lives through education.
